And since the mid-nineties, we have pursued our commitment to goal-oriented environmental work.
We've established concrete goals for sustainable development - for thinking in terms of recycling and for a responsible attitude towards resources. We were awarded ISO 14001 environmental certification in 1997.
Within Scandiflex we consistently strive to minimise scrap and production wastage. For example, we recycle a lot of the solvents used in production. The air that we emit to atmosphere is treated by a biological air treatment plant, ensuring minimal emission of organic compounds to atmosphere but without the normal CO2 emission generally used in the incineration of such compounds. And we've planted 200,000 trees in Sweden to help compensate for the effects of the incineration that's often the end of the line for our packaging.
